Ensuring your CSI contribution has long term effects

As a corporate in South Africa with a keen sense of responsibility towards social development in our community, we recognised that our CSI contribution can be an incredible tool if used correctly, combined with a strong focus on sustainability.
We started with a small project three years ago (The SATlings), ‘adopting’ five learners from a disadvantaged school, today we have a fully functioning project with a dedicated academic manager and experienced tutors. We have registered a NPO, Solid Foundations to focus on the broader development of the school we have partnered with. We currently have six CSI partners who have bought into our efforts to actively campaign for quality education for the poor.
With intensive attention to Math and English literacy combined with a caring emotional development aspect the SATlings project continues to grow from strength to strength with two generations of SATlings reaping the benefits of academic and emotional growth throughout their secondary education.
We pride the success of our CSI initiatives on our focus on quality. The learners affected by the SATlings project receive only the best in all areas. We are currently in the process of adopting our third generation of SATlings and we would like to invite you to partner with us to provide quality education for a learner who has the potential to be our next leader.

• Joined SATlings in 2009 as Grade 8 learner and was positioned 20th in grade
• Scored an average of 61% in Grade 8
Since joining SATlings:
• Moved up to 2nd position in Grade 10
• Scores average of 80% and achieved 99% for math in June 2011 exams
• Was invited by local auditing firm to apply for bursary based on current results
